In this body of work I wanted to simplify my surface technique by limiting
my palette to black and blue and the white of the clay. Using washes of the blue and black underglazes I built up the surfaces with many values of each color. When glazing I applied dots or linear patterns of clear glaze on top of the underglazes. The glaze changes the value of the washes below and adds a shimmering pattern back over the images or patterns below.
