In September of 2008 Hurricane Ike passed directly over Galveston Island where I live. I took many things from my studio when I evacuated but left many pieces that were in progress. The works pictured here were finished when I re established my studio after it was submerge in 33" to 44" of brackish water from the storm's flood. In the first 2 images you see the tossed studio and the unfired works that survived the flooding during Hurricane Ike on shelves in my studio. The following images show the finished works. When I started to draw on their surfaces I wanted to make them very elaborate as they had survived! I wanted them to be fancy!
