The Written Image
After being in my studio nearly every day for 30 years I had a slow period in my practice. I concentrated on working on my house and yard and relationships. I felt I was living my twenties in my fifties. A mid life crisis or as a friend called it “celebration”? Concentrating on life rather than life in studio was not a completely comfortable experience. When one thinks of themselves as a worker and they are not working, it is a contradiction. One I embraced. Although I will not claim this period to be a particularly productive it did give me much folly to mind in this new body of work.
